Family Literacy Day 2012!!!
Lights! Camera! Action! Salmo Readers this is your time to shine! Show your creativity by taking funny, silly, cute or special pictures of your family doing literacy activities. Read to yourself, your pet or anyone. Read in unusual places. Read in a boat or in space while you float. Read in your house, or with a mouse. Read with a giraffe and make us all laugh. Read in places near and far, but take that picture wherever you are. So go, get busy and snap away and then drop off your picture at the Salmo Public Library (or email it to salmopubliclibrary@telus.net) and we will make a fantastic window display!
The Salmo Public Library and Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy will be hosting Family Literacy Day on January 28th in the Dorothy Hearn Wing at the Salmo Public Library. Our theme is “Hats off to Literacy”. Come wearing your favourite funky hat and enjoy great activities for the whole family.
Computer Tutoring!

Th
is colourful computer comes preloaded with age appropriate and educational programs that support the development of computer and literacy skills in young children. The computer is not linked to the internet so there are no issues around children accessing inappropriate material.
PRESCHOOL STORY TIME AT THE SALMO PUBLIC LIBRARY
Drop - in storytime (2-5 year olds with parent/caregiver) is held every Friday at 10:30 except the last Friday of the month.
A fun, interactive program of books, songs, rhymes, and includes a simple craft all developed around a weekly theme. An early introduction to the pleasure of stories and reading!
